I'm shocked and greatly saddened by Walter's death. Walt and I were good friends during our teenage years. I'd bicycle from my home in Fair Haven to his home in the Quinnipiac area and vice versa. Our lives also intersected at the East Pearl St Methodist Church where we were both members. We also did a few camping trips together, including one trip to the White Mountains. We gradually lost touch with each other after his move to Vermont. However, I'll always remember his dry wit, humor and resourcefulness. Too many of us baby boomer are passing unexpectedly and at far too young an age. My condolences go out to all of his family and friends. Douglas Losty

I am so so very sad to hear about Walter. There are no words to express the shock and sadness. I can only imagine your loss. He was known around Barnard for his kindness and laugh. The past couple years have been tough for him. I can only say he is with Linda now. my sincerely condolences to his children, brother and sisters. my thoughts and prayers are with you.
