Obituary of James Merola
James Merola, 51 of East Haven passed away February 17, 2018. He was born December 19, 1966 in New Haven to the late Neil and Judith (Lord) Merola. James is survived by a son Cody Green of Old Saybrook, siblings, Debra Merola-Martinez (Rudy) of Texas and Neil Merola Jr. (Gina) of East Haven, along with four nieces/nephews, Alyssa Merola, Marina Martinez, Neil Merola III and Sarah Martinez.
Jimmy had many interests he loved such as animals, books, music, movies, football and family. He had taken on the difficult job of caregiver for his bedridden mom during her last years of life. He showed her much respect, love and patience. Whenever anyone needed help, he was there for them. He went out of his way to make sure they were taken care of. Jimmy called everyone a friend. He was a sweet soul. Jimmy’s son, Cody, meant the world to him. He was always so uplifted when Cody would come around or call. The time they spent together was a true gift for Jimmy; that’s when he was his happiest. Jimmy will be forever missed by those who loved him most.
