Obituary of Anthony Zampano
Please share a memory of Anthony to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
ANTHONY W. ZAMPANO, 76, of East Haven, beloved son of the late Ermelinda (Mongillo) Zampano, and Vincent Zampano, of New Haven, entered into eternal rest at Yale New Haven Hospital on March 22, 2015.
Anthony was a devoted and loving father to Anthony Zampano Jr. of New Haven and Debra A. Zampano of East Haven. Anthony remained close and consistent in friendship with his former wife, Beatrice (Latella) Zampano. He leaves long-time companion, Joan Quinn of East Haven.
Anthony served in the Connecticut National Guard. He learned his trade working alongside his father the founder of Zampano Painting and Contracting Company in New Haven. Upon his father’s retirement, Anthony expanded the company to include interior and creative interaction with decorators throughout the state. Later in his career, Anthony joined the Hospital of Saint Raphael in Engineering Management and was loved, admired and respected by his colleagues. He was affable and always shared his smile with co-workers, patients, and visitors alike. His responsibilities were many and he enjoyed the challenges. Many referred to Anthony as "The Mayor of Saint Raphaels". He tried retirement for a short period of time and was called upon to return for his knowledge and expertise. He gladly accepted as he missed his colleagues and his workplace. His interests included golf, fishing, singing, playing string instruments and creating art through his drawings and paintings.
Anthony W. Zampano’s memory will be cherished by his family and the many lives which were touched by his well lived and satisfied life.
Anthony's family would like to especially commend and thank Dr. Mark S. Kasper and Dr. Michael Imevbore for their compassionate care and support given to Anthony and his family.
