Dear Kathy, John, and Keeley,
We are so very sorry to learn of Dave’s passing. He was a great man and we were so fortunate to have gotten to know him and all of you through Wisconsin Football. We looked so forward to your trips to Madison to spend time with you at games and tailgates. We (I) could always count on Dave’s great personality, his insight, his stories, his experiences, and simply just getting to know each other. Our common bond was our pride in our families (our wives and our children). And boy were we proud - we were both lucky and blessed!
I will not soon forget spending New Year’s Eve dinner with you and some of your family members (the Wrecking Crew as I called them) at the Rose Bowl. What a great and memorable evening! Great fun with all of you! Dave and I had a blast!
I also will not forget your great hospitality and our get-together with you when our son, Mark, was going to Holy Cross and we would visit. Your generosity at Thanksgiving was incredible when Mark could not make it home. He appreciated what you did for him and we appreciated him being with all of you enjoying the holiday. So very kind of all the Moffitt!
Please know that our deepest sympathies are with you today and beyond. Dave will be greatly missed by all - he was very special! May your great and fond memories of him get you through this very difficult time and put smiles on your faces and joy in your hearts. Dave was simply a great guy in every way!
