Obituary of Lucille Remington
Please share a memory of Lucille to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Lucille (Frigon) Remington, 77, of New Haven, CT passed away January 23, 2024 at CT Hospice of Branford. She was born May 20, 1946 in New Haven to the late Joseph and Grace (Godfrey) Frigon. Lucille is survived by her loving son, Arthur Wild (wife, Janine) of Midlothian, VA and three grandchildren: Carolyn Nava-Tavares (husband, Mac), Emma Grace and Aidan Wild along with two great-grandchildren: Dylan and Deana Tavares.
Lucille was an exemplary mother and human being. She embodied the best of qualities: unconditional love, strength of spirit, and an unending generosity that could be seen in her care for her mother, child, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, as well as countless others.
Lucille tried to live life to the fullest, spending as much time as she could with family and friends. She worked incredibly hard as a professional server, enjoying many years at the private Yale club “Mory’s,” founded in 1849 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places. During Lucille’s many years there, she enjoyed traditions such as watching students ‘Clean the Cup’ and listening to America’s oldest collegiate a cappella group, the Whiffenpoofs, perform. Lucille also met many important personalities, professional athletes, dignitaries, as well as former President, George Herbert Walker Bush and First Lady Barbara Bush. Lucille had been ill for many years, suffering with emphysema and eventually lung cancer. Her final days were spent well attended and surrounded by her loved ones.
A graveside service will be held in May at East Haven Lawn Cemetery, 58 River Street, East Haven with an updated obituary announcing the date. All services are under the care of Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 43 Kirkham Avenue, East Haven, CT.
