Obituary of Margaret Cease
Please share a memory of Margaret to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Margaret (Hall) Cease, 84 of North Haven passed away December 28, 2023 at CT Hospice with her family by her side. She was born October 23, 1939 in New Haven to John and Ruth (Monahan) Hall. Margaret is survived by her two daughters, Lenore Cease-Berrios of East Haven and Dawn Bruneau (Jon) of North Haven along with a granddaughter she adored, Samantha “Sammie” Berrios. Margaret is also survived her brother, William Hall (Maureen) of North Branford, numerous nieces/nephews and former son-in-law, Nicholas Berrios Jr. of Seymour.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Arnold Cease (2010), two brothers and two sisters.
Peggy spent much of her life growing up in New Haven, CT, where she attended Wilbur Cross High School. She went on to become an LPN which led her to be employed at Yale New Haven Hospital where she met the love of her life, Arnold “Arnie” Cease whom she married on June 22, 1968. Shortly after, Peggy and Arnie moved to Branford where they began their life together, raising two beautiful daughters, and remained there until the love of her life’s passing in 2010. During her time with Arnie, she traveled, enjoyed her children, enjoyed baking, watching her granddaughter grow, spending time with close friends; such as Lillian Guiliani, and taking care of her prized bunny, Huey. As time went on, Peggy sought new life passions, including going to the theatre, concerts, comedy shows, spending time with her grand-pup whom she adored, Max, and spending quality time with her best friends, Linda Cicarella and Michele DiRienzo.
The family would like to extend their greatest gratitude to Linda Cicarella and Michele DiRienzo for caring for our beloved family member as their own.
In lieu of sending flowers, please consider a donation to the Halfway Home Rescue LLC, P.O. Box 712 North Haven, CT 06473 in honor of Margaret “Peggy”. Both of Peggy’s beloved pets were rescues from the organization, and it would be an honor to give back to the organization who gave Peggy the pets she adored so much.
