This is Paula and me at the Clearwater Festival many years ago. I met Paula when I worked for Continuing Education at UMass Amherst. She was my union representative. We stayed friends over the course of many years- I moved to NYC in the 1980s, she moved to Connecticut. She had a sweetness and adventurousness. I miss her greatly.

Paula and I shared separate apartments in a beautiful Victorian house in Acton. We immediately became friends when she moved in and our friendship deepened over the last 20 years. Paula was a beacon of love and kindness, undeniably spirited with a sense of humor that turned friendships into family bonds. Her adventurous spirit led us on many outings together where we admired nature's beauty, from the birds thriving in trees to deer families rambling through our yard – all moments captured by her passionate eye for photography. She was an avid moon-watcher and would travel to the local beaches to catch that first beam of light from the moon. She was fiercely devoted to our traditions, dancing through concerts, sharing celebrations (we shared our Aries birthdays every year and NYE with a dine around from her apartment to mine) and even enduring snowstorms side by side with the season's first snowflake. I will always remember her in her 'tick free' outfit when she gardened. We skied together, we cried together, and we laughed together. Paula shone brightly everywhere she went – her gentle soul lighting every room with her infectious positivity.
As I walk this world without her physical presence, I hold dear our shared memories while honoring her through tributes and keepsakes. We will continue to dedicate a dance to her with each concert that we go to, to raise our glasses and forks to her with each Bouillabaisse that I make as that was her unknowingly last dinner we shared together , she will always be remembered as I raise my morning cup of tea in the cat cup that she gave me, and when I nurture the Norfolk Pine that she gave with water and plant food, she will be in my heart and soul.
I loved her zest and positivity for life and she paired that with kindness and generosity. Her vibrant spirit continues to dance in my heart. She truly lived life to it's fullest and I am so grateful to have been part of her adventure. Her memory will live on in my heart for the rest of my life.
