Obituary of William Morris (ret. NHFD)

William C. Morris (ret. NHFD), 79 Formerly of New Haven, passed away October 12, 2022 at Embrace Hospice House in Myrtle Beach, SC. He was born January 10, 1943 in New Haven to George and Eleanor (Connolly) Morris. William is survived by his sister, Linda Ochman (Richard), his three sons, William Morris Jr. (Maureen) of Haddam, Scott Morris (Donna) of Silver Spring, MD, and Kevin Morris (Janice) of Hamden. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Timothy Morris, Bridey Morris, Vaughn Morris, Kevin Morris Jr., Ryan Morris, Patrick Morris, and Colin Morris.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife of 55 years, Kathleen (Sause) Morris (2020) and siblings, George Morris and Richard Morris.
Bill was a member of the New Haven Fire Department for over 20 years. While he was stationed all over the city, the Fair Haven station was his favorite as his sons could come and visit. He was an avid golfer spending his early Saturday and Sunday mornings at Alling Memorial with the Dawn Patrol and was a long time member of the Knights of Columbus, Elk’s, and the East Haven Stoners Club. He retired to Myrtle Beach in 1998 where he continued to follow his passion for golf and engaged in restoration of MGB roadsters.
Family will receive friends on Friday, October 21, 2022 from 9:30 A.M. until the time of service at 11:30 A.M. in the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home (Clancy Funeral Home), 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven with Committal to follow at All Saints Cemetery, North Haven. In lieu of flowers, please make donation to Alzheimer’s Association Connecticut Chapter, 200 Executive Blvd S #4b, Southington, CT 06489 in memory of William Morris.
