Salvatore DeLucia, 90, of North Haven passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, September 24, 2022. He was born May 16, 1932 in North Haven to James and Mary (Papa) DeLucia. Salvatore is survived by his devoted wife of 64 years, Evelyn (Page) DeLucia and four loving children, Maria Gagner (Arthur) of North Haven, Mildred D’Addio (Ronald) of Hamden, Salvatore DeLucia (Carolyn) of North Haven and James DeLucia of North Haven along with ten grandchildren he adored, Maria Lucas (Josh), Christina Mackinnel (Brian), Evelyn Gagner (Kyle Demming), Mindy LeHerissier (Adam), Ronald D’Addio Jr., Salvatore DeLucia Jr. (Danielle), Christopher DeLucia (Casey), Giavanna DeLucia, Pamela Gagner and Cassie Damauro. Salvatore is also survived by his great grandchildren, Charles Senger, Brian Mackinnel, Logan Mackinnel, Rocco Lucas, Vincent Lucas, Dustin DeLucia, Dawson DeLucia, Cecelia DeLucia, Chayse Mangiano, Carter Gagner, Malyana Gagner, Tyler Damauro, Evan Damauro and Gianna Damauro and a sister-in-law, Rose DeLucia of North Haven.
He is preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Nicholas, Michael, James and Joseph DeLucia and his in-laws, Arthur and Mildred (Southmayd) Page.
Sal retired after 35 years of service from LG Defelice and Sons as an operating engineer, with International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 478. He had a passion for his garden and greenhouse, growing his vegetables and flowers, especially Geraniums. Salvatore was a dedicated and loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend to all. He loved his family!
Family will receive friends from 4 to 7 PM on Thursday, September 29, 2022 at the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home (Clancy Funeral Home), 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven. His funeral procession will leave Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home on Friday at 11:30 A.M. for a A Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 PM (NOON) at St. Elizabeth of the Trinity Parish at the Church of St. Therese, 555 Middletown Ave., North Haven with Committal to follow at All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donation to Alzheimer’s Association CT Chapter, 200 Executive Blvd. S, #4B, Southington CT 06489 in memory of Salvatore DeLucia.
