John Bruce 73, of New Haven, a Native American Indian, passed away July 16, 2021 at Yale New Haven Hospital. He was born April 15, 1948 in Chicago to John (Quayhuftewa) and Lucille (Smith) Bruce. He is survived by his brother, Richard Bruce of East Haven and nephews/nieces: Christopher Bruce, Kasey Bruce, Lisa Montalvo (Dominic), Michael Ildefonso, Kenneth Ildefonso, Billy Bruce, Lillian Bruce and Richie Bruce. John is also survived by his great niece, Cheyenne Riccio along with numerous great nieces/nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Katherine Burke, Ramona Bruce, Phyllis Bruce and a brother, Ronald Bruce.
Family will receive friends on Thursday, July 22, 2021 from 4 PM until the time of service at ^;30 PM in the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home (Clancy Funeral Home), 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven. Burial will be private.
