Obituary of CarolAnn Provitz

CarolAnn (Caprio) Provitz 77 of East Haven, CT (born and raised in the city of New Haven, CT), passed away January 3rd, 2021 at Yale New Haven Hospital. She was born March 18, 1943 to Dominic and MaryAnn (Ardolino) Caprio. CarolAnn was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend who is survived by her three devoted children, Edward Provitz (Patricia) of Branford, Lisa Rosenthal (Joseph) of Branford and Gregg Provitz (Patricia) of East Haven, along with four grandchildren who she loved and adored, Edward Provitz, Lia Provitz, Hannah Rosenthal and David Rosenthal. She is also survived by two brothers, Robert Caprio (Adele) of Branford, Richard Caprio (Widower of Peggy) of Yonkers, Sister-In-Laws, Lynn Caprio (Widow of Joseph Caprio) of Madison, Karen Caprio (Widow of Donald Caprio) of Maine. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Edward T. Provitz (2009). Known as Mema, she lived by an open-door policy. Always cooking; you were never allowed to leave on an empty stomach or before the final course, even if she had to squeeze an extra chair at the table. You arrived as a friend and left as family. A private service will be held at the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven, CT with a Celebration of Life to be held at a future date.
