Please share a memory of Helen to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Helen (Daly) Flynn 91 of Madison passed away December 7, 2020 in Florida. She was born March 21, 1929 in New Haven to Andrew and Helen (Moriarty) Daly. Helen is survived by her six loving children, Deirdre Harrison (Gary) of Florida, Charles Flynn Jr. (Karen) of Madison, Sean Flynn of Florida, Tara Job (David) of Guilford, Brian Flynn of NJ and Kerry Berardinelli (Giovanni) of Ivoryton. She is also survived by her eleven grandchildren who she adored, Ben Harrison, Matthew Flynn, Christopher Flynn, Ryan Flynn, Brandon Flynn (Star), Kiernan Norman, Derek Norman, Katherine Flynn, Spencer Flynn, Justin Berardinelli, Jack Berardinelli along with one sister, Mary Mahon (Raymond) of Madison. There were many aspects of Helen which she would like to be remembered. Helen was a polio survivor that had some physical limitations. She never let that define her until one snowy day, in her late 70’s she received a ticket for parking in the handicapped space. She went directly to the police station, paid her ticket and applied for handicapped parking. Helen was also a licensed hair dresser that opened and ran her own shop until marriage and children became her life. Her daughters and nieces still talk about the pixie haircuts by Helen Daly. She was a mother who took her job seriously, she was as tough as she was soft and did not care what everyone else was doing. In the 1970’s Helen took a job at the Shoreline Times that taught her the typesetting industry, she went on to open and run her own business until her retirement. Helen was a grandmother who went by the name of Grandma. Her grandchildren were her joy and anything that involved them took priority over everything else. She loved spending time in Vermont and when happiest when surrounded by family including those children of other mothers.
