Obituary of Geraldine Minster

Geraldine Ann (Russell) Minster 89 of Clinton passed away September 6, 2020 at Gladeview Rehab and Health Care in Old Saybrook CT. She was born January 31, 1931 in Waukegan, IL to George and Dorothy (Karow) Russell. Geraldine is survived by her children, Sarah Hollinger (Tom) of Clinton, John Minster (Kathy) of Boothwyn, PA and Chris Minster (Kate) of Fairfield CT along with seven grandchildren, John Hollinger, David Hollinger, Angela Minster, Meredith Schutte, Kristina Minster, Lisa Minster and Ryan Minster. Geraldine is also survived by her five great grandchildren, Paul Hunt, Addison Hollinger, Clark Schutte, Samuel Hollinger and Silas Hollinger. She is preceded in death by her husband, John Taylor Wolfenden Minster of Clinton, CT. John and Geraldine met at a USO Dance at the Great Lakes Naval Station They got married and lived in Lansdowne, PA where she was active in many community activities : the Lansdowne Friends, the Twentieth Century Club, the Lansdowne Library, and the Lansdowne Girls Club as a softball coach. Geraldine was also a docent at Winterthur Museum in Winterthur Delaware. She studied Art History and Appreciation at the Barnes Foundation in Merion, PA under Violette de Mazia. Geraldine retired as a Senior Systems Analyst at Hahnemann Hospital in Philadelphia. After retirement, she worked at the Delaware County Memorial Hospital Thrift Shop in Lansdowne. Geraldine and John moved to Connecticut in 2007. A graveside service will be held at a later date at Friends Southwestern Burial Ground in Upper Darby, PA.
