Obituary of Julia T. Kowalick
Julia T. Kowalick 91, born March 28, 1928, daughter of John and Marian Biscoe of Girardville, Pa died peacefully at the Whitney Manor Nursing Home in Hamden on Sunday July 7, 2019. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband Anthony “Blondie” and daughter Debbie, by five brother's, Joseph, Thomas, John, William and Charles and two sisters Elizabeth and Marian.
Julia is survived by her caregiving daughter, Marion "Sissy" (Harry) Faulkner of East Haven and son Anthony (Dorothy) Kowalick of Milton, New York; three grandchildren Theresa (John III) Gontarek, Anthony (Melanie) Kowalick and Christine Proctor and fiance' Steve Shaheen, along with five great grandchildren,Gabrielle ,John IV and Jake Gontarek, Camille and Anthony Kowalick. She is also survived by one sister Madeline Monasterski of Ashland Pa and a brother Thomas Biscoe of Frackville, Pa. and many nieces and nephews.
Julia spent her working years as a Lead Lady for Pratt and Whitney, North Haven division. She retired in 1993. She enjoyed spending her free time with her grandchildren, browsing tag sales and traveling. She was an avid reader who after losing her sight spent many hours listening to audio books provided by the Connecticut State Department of the Blind. The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Whitney Manor in Hamden for their compassion and care. We would also like to thank Seasons Hospice of Middlebury for the love and caring they showed to mom during her final months.
Family will receive friends from 9 a.m until 10:45 a.m. on Thursday, July 11, 2019 at the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home (Clancy Funeral Home) 43 Kirkham Ave. East Haven at which time her procession will leave Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home for a 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Pio of Pietrelcina Parish at the Church of St. Vincent de Paul, 80 Taylor Ave. East Haven with Committal to follow at St. Agnes Cemetery, Branford. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the Alzheimer Foundation in memory of Julia Kowalick.
