Kathy, Roberta, Mat, and Butchie,
Butch was truly one in a million. The world lost one of its kindest, funniest, and gentlest souls. I can’t imagine how you must be feeling right now, but I’m glad that you are celebrating his wonderful life. I’m doing that too, thinking to myself how I wouldn’t trade the tricks he played on me growing up for anything. Remember, “Here, hold this” and then me carrying around his trash for the next thirty minutes? Or how about, “Hey, watch those deer out there and let me know when they move” and then me diligently staring out the window at lawn ornaments in a field at Water’s Edge? He got me over and over again haha! I could never get mad or upset with Butch, though, because I knew that if he picked on you that meant he loved you. And we all loved him. He had an amazing way of bringing a room to life and bringing people together through laughter. I always respected him for that, and I cherish every moment we had with him. He was a gift to all of us. I hate that I couldn’t make it there this week, but I promise I am sending endless amounts of love and hugs and support.
