I am so sorry to have missed the service. I planned my trip to CT April 5-8 to see Uncle George one last time. I will visit him in Hamden instead. This has been the hardest death for me except for my parents. I never wanted to see this day come, Uncle George was always very special to me, as was Aunt Betty. For some reason, we always had a very special bond that lasted until the last time I talked to him, a few days before he died. When I first retired, he would call me every year to kid me about my retirement. He always asked how did I like my raise? When I answered, "what raise", he would laugh and tell me about his pension. The last time he called to tease me, he told me he had officially doubled his pension. He just laughed. I always told him he had the most successful children and grandchildren in the family. He was so proud. No one had been in trouble and had gone on to successful careers. I am so happy that he was my uncle, a lot of laughs, a lot of support and a lot of love. He still called me his favorite niece on my last phone call. I will miss him terribly.

To everyone in our office you were known as Pa George. All greeted you that way as you came in on your daily visits. And when you didn't show up we knew you were up to something. Whether, buying another new car, another home to flip, painting your basement floors, going to the auction or some kind of handy work.. However, you made it down for your visits eventually. You will be sorely missed by us all, but your stories of life experiences will remain with us forever.
Rest easy Pa George.

Grateful that I got to know Mr. Hennessey. His warmth, zeal, sense of humor, old fashioned America work ethic — all indelible.
Seems to me that the memories he created with and for everyone he encountered most certainly will leave a lasting legacy to be cherished again and again during his worldly absence...perhaps, in hindsight, there is no better indicator of a life well lived.

My father in law, was a wonderful man who was always there for his family. He loved working on cars and taught me so much about mechanics. He was a jack of all trades-helping anyone in the family with projects. With five children, he was constantly busy.
He was so proud of his family and always talking about his children and grandchildren.
He will be greatly missed by everyone that was lucky to know him and benefit from his friendship and generosity!
I love you George.
