Obituary of Antoinette Nuzzo

Antoinette (Marinello) Nuzzo 90 of East Haven passed away January 4, 2019 at St. Raphael Campus of Yale New Haven Hospital. She was born September 29, 1928 in New Haven to Dominic and Grace (Bencivenga) Marinello.  Antoinette is survived by her loving children, Peter Nuzzo Jr. (Patricia) of East Haven and Donna Collins (James) of East Haven, two grandchildren, Jennifer Chauvin (Sean), Justyne Mouning (Marcus) and one great grandson, Owyn Chauvin. She is also survived by her sister, Grace Lukaszek. Antoinette is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Peter Nuzzo (2011), sisters, Rosie Marinello, Angelina Frione and Maryann Santarcangelo. Antoinette was a high honors student and the Valedictorian of Hillhouse High School, Class of 1947. She enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling with her husband, reading, listening to Italian music and playing bingo. She was a member of the Jolly Time and the East Haven Senior Center where she would always ask Peter Jr., “Can you take me to the Senior Center.” She was a proud wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister who felt “Blessed” seeing her grandchildren get married.  

Family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 from 4-7 p.m. at the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home (Clancy Funeral Home) 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven. Her funeral procession will leave Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home on Wednesday at 9:40 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Pio of Pietrelcina Parish of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Taylor Ave., East Haven with Committal to follow at All Saints Cemetery, North Haven.
