Obituary of Joseph Federation
Joseph “Joe” J. Federation of East Haven, passed away at age 82 on December 7, 2018 in New Haven, Connecticut. Joe was a devoted and loving family man. He is survived by his wife, Carole (Mack) Federation; his children Joseph (Francis) Federation, Kathryn Federation, Linda (Kent) Roeser, and Michael Federation; his grandchildren Carolelyn, Katelyn, Julia, Lilly, and Joseph; his great-grandchild Aura Celeste; his sister Marianne Torello; his nephews Anthony (Michelle) and Edward (Nancy) Poleshek; and his great nephews Steven and Matthew.
Joe was born in New Haven, Connecticut. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. Embodying the motto “Once A Marine, Always A Marine,” he was always seen wearing the insignia of the Marine Corps. Following his military service, Joe started working for the Southern Connecticut Gas Company in 1956 where he worked for more than 40 years. Joe continued his commitment to service as Scoutmaster of Troop 408 of the Boy Scouts of America for many years and was President of the East Haven High School’s Gridiron Club. A talented craftsman, he enjoyed working with his hands.
He will be missed by his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched. Family will receive friends from 4 p.m. until the time of service at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, December 14, 2018 at the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home (Clancy Funeral Home), 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven. Burial will be at a later date with Full Military Honors.
