Maureen (Mealia) Osiecki, 69, of East Haven passed away peacefully on July 19th 2018, at CT Hospice of Branford. She was the wife of the late Ronald Osiecki. Maureen was born in New Haven on November 2, 1948 to John & Mary (Piascki) Mealia. Maureen is survived by her nephew Robert Jackson (Carolyn) of East Haven, Her Italian Sister Philomena Libretti (Joseph), Natalie Frosolone (Bruce) whom she thought of like a daughter, of East Haven and Darlene Mirto (Joseph) whom she thought of like a sister, of North Haven. She also leaves behind cousins Audrey Mealia, Susan Lowe of East Haven, David Sullivan (Toby) of Lebanon Ct., Diane Filipkowski of FL., Barbara Sullivan of California, Barbara Hughes and Joseph Piasciak of MI.  She is also survived by godsons Todd Anderson and Robb Anderson of Branford and a dear friend Kathy Odom of Old Lyme. Maureen is preceded in death by her parents and her brother Robert Mealia. She was a retired employee of SNET. During her years she volunteered with SNET Community Relations Organization, the Special Olympics Torch Run, MDA and was part of the East Haven Town Green Restoration Committee. Family will receive friends from 2-5pm on July 22nd 2018 at the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home (Clancy Funeral Home), 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven. Her funeral procession will leave the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home on Monday, July 23rd at 8:40 am for a mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 am at St Clares Catholic Church, 234 Coe Avenue., East Haven with committal to follow at St. Lawrence Cemetery in West Haven. Donations may be made to CT Hospice, 100 Double Beach Road, Branford, Ct.06405 or St. Judes Childrens Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN. 38105 in memory of Maureen Osiecki. Maureen was a special person who touched many lives with her kindness and warmth and will be sadly missed.
