Obituary of George Hugo
George Hugo 99 of East Haven passed away peacefully on April 25, 2018 at Whitney Manor. He was born September 3, 1918 in New Haven to Joseph and Margaret (Ludwig) Hugo. George is survived by his children; Marge Campbell (Dan), George Hugo Jr., Michael Hugo all of KY, Carol Pacheco (Manny), Helen Hugo , Janet Hugo and David Hugo all of MA. George is also survived 7 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, nephews, John Weidner and Randy Weidner and one niece, Janet Heubner (Arthur). George is preceded in death by his parents, wives, Lily (Childress) Hugo, Helen (Spellman) Hugo, and sisters, Eleanore Donahue and Margaret Weidner.
George was a Radio Station Engineer for Kops-Monahan Communications for 23½ years at WAVZ AM and its sister station, KC101 FM in New Haven. He was an avid radio “ham” operator of W1PYF. After retirement George worked in the communication field tech serving police, fire, and emergency vehicles and their base stations at the former Rollins Cablevision, now Comcast. George was an amazing person who truly loved and honored his family. He had the utmost respect for all who crossed his path.
Family and friends are invited to meet and attend a graveside service on Friday, April 27, 2018 (TODAY) at 12:00 PM (Noon) in St. Lawrence Cemetery, 280 Derby Ave., West Haven (We will gather at the office). Funeral services are in the care of Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven.
