William "Bill" Cummings 94 of East Haven passed away March 18, 2018 at CT Hospice in Branford. He was born April 27, 1923 in West Haven to Carl and Freda (Kolb) Cummings. Bill is survived by his wife, Dorothy (Kohler) Cummings and four children, Peggy Cummings, Ann McCaughey (Bill), Judy Cummings and Paul Cummings along with two grandchildren, Shelley LeBlanc (Justin), Kevin McCaughey (fiancé, Chelsea) and two great granddaughters, Lily and Emma LeBlanc. He is also survived by his sister, Patricia Williams (Cliff) and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Dorothy Tarbell (Jack). Bill graduated from East Haven High School in 1940, the first class to attend all four years. Bill was a veteran of WWII serving in the Navy Air Corps. He received his private pilot license under the GI Bill. He retired from SNET in 1988. Bill enjoyed gardening, photography, fishing, painting and model trains. He was an amateur radio operator “W1RMG” and could play several musical instruments completely by ear. The family wishes to thank John Mancuso for his care and friendship these past few years. A private graveside service was held by Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home, East Haven at Bare Plains Cemetery in North Branford.
