Obituary of Elaine Finelli

Elaine (Piscitelli) Finelli of East Haven was called to heaven on March 6, 2018 at the age of 79. She was born November 11, 1938, in East Haven to Frank and Marie (DeAngelo) Piscitelli. Elaine is survived by her two children, Annamarie Martowski (Daniel) of East Haven and Saverio Finelli (Angela) of Madison along with seven grandchildren, Terrance Martowski (fiancé, Elizabeth Brownell), Rebecca Martowski, Chantay Martowski, Annie Pearson, Vincent Finelli, Frank Finelli, Anthony Finelli, and one great granddaughter, Martha Isales. She is also survived by siblings, David Piscitelli (Debbie) of Meriden, Alan Piscitelli (Linda) of Florida, and Barbara Mongillo of Florida. Elaine is preceded in death by her parents, husband Peter Finelli (1997) and brother in law Anthony Mongillo of Florida.

She met the love of her life at the age of 16, married in 1961, and honeymooned for a month in Italy. Though she held many paid positions throughout her life, the most notable being at AMR, her volunteer work brought her the most satisfaction—North Lawrence Ladies Auxillary, East Haven Food Pantry, and East Haven United Community Kitchen to name a few. It was her passion to help people and her generosity had no end. She was always doing something for someone somewhere, especially her grandchildren whom she loved to spoil.
