Obituary of William Perez-Aviles
William Perez-Aviles 69 of New Haven passed away peacefully on February 22, 2018. He was born April 14, 1948 in Puerto Rico to Nicomedes and Alejandrina (Aviles) Perez. William is survived by three loving children; Josephine Miller-Mendez (Justin) of Florida, William Perez Jr. (Doris) of Staten Island, and Adam Perez (Sara) of New Haven, eight grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and a brother, Juan C. Perez-Aviles (Helga) of Long Island. William is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Benito Perez-Aviles.
William had traveled throughout the continental U.S. and Europe in his twenties and had a rich life filled with adventure and love. He loved music especially playing his guitar for his grandchildren and at family gatherings. He achieved multiple Masters Degrees and excelled at his passion of teaching and enjoyed many years in the New York and New Haven public school system as a special education and speech pathologist. He loved the outdoors and everything in nature. His faith and the spirituality were a core part of him and he always saw the best part of everyone around him “everyone deserves a second chance “ was his mantra. He will be missed loved and never forgotten.
Family will receive friends from 2 to 7 PM on Monday, February 26, 2018 at the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home (Clancy Funeral Home) 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 27 at 10 AM in the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home followed by burial rites at Evergreen Cemetery, New Haven.
