Obituary of John B. Feijo

John B. Feijo of 64 Van Horn Drive, East Haven, Connecticut, passed away
peacefully in his sleep on August 24, 2010. A decorated World War II Veteran,
John was in the front line on D-day, one of the first to go out on land to help build
platforms for the troops to bring their artillery and machinery on land to be
prepared and armed to fight. He received an award from France for all three
battles, Normandy Beach, Omaha Beach and The Battle of the Bulge, as well as a
Purple Heart and many other awards. He traveled throughout France, England,
Germany and Austria until the war was over. He worked for Avco Lycoming for
35 years, helping to design engines and machinery for airplanes, bombers,
helicopters and tanks. He was married to Frances Feijo from July 10, 1948 until
her death December 31, 2005. John was born in New Bedford, Massachusetts on
August 29, 1924 to Antonio Feijo and Mary Perry and moved from Massachusetts
to Connecticut to work for Avco until retirement. He was the proud father of Diana
Feijo Duell, grandfather of Jeremy and Cynthia Duell, and great-grandfather to
McKayla and Harper Duell. Now he goes to be reunited with his wife and
parents
Funeral service will be held Saturday- morning at 11:00 in the Clany Funeral Horne, 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven. He will be buried next to his beloved wife in East Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call Saturday morning from 10-11.
