Obituary of Madelyn Krause

Madelyn (Colligan) Krause, 93, died peacefully at her home in Skowhegan, Maine on February 7, 2018 surrounded by her family. Madelyn was born May 24, 1924 to Lillis Henry and Elizabeth Ellen (Fitzsimmons) Colligan. Madelyn was predeceased in death by her parents and husband Richard Warren Krause (1971). Madelyn leaves behind her eight children, Kathleen (Michael) Dabbraccio of East Haven, Richard (Eva) Krause, Jr. of Fairfield, ME, Karl (Joann) Krause of North Branford, Charlene (Art) Longley of East Haven, Elizabeth (Frank) Perrelli of Greenwich, NY, Craig (Barbara) Krause of Stratford, NY, Beverly (Larry) Cifarelli of East Haven and Rhonda (Roger) Whiteneck of Skowhegan, ME. She also leaves behind 20 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. Madelyn grew up in Connecticut. She shared many memories of her time living on Pauline Avenue in West Haven while raising her young family. She then moved with her family to East Haven where she lived until she moved to Maine. She worked for many years at Hamden Whitney Answering Service. Madelyn used her talents in knitting and crocheting to make memorable gifts for her family. Her love showed in each stitch. The sweaters, robes, ponchos and dolls she lovingly created with each family member in mind will bring comfort to her family in this time of loss and sorrow. Family will receive friends from 9:30 AM until the time of service at 11:30 AM on Monday, February 12, 2018 in the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home (Clancy Funeral Home) 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven, with Committal to follow at East Lawn Cemetery, East Haven.
