Obituary of Florence Leach

Florence (St.Clair) Leach 88 of New Haven, passed away on December 7, 2017 at Genesis Arden House in Hamden. Florence was born April 29, 1929 in New Haven to James B. and Florence (Holland) St.Clair. She is survived by her two loving children, Son, Harry Leach and Daughter Ellen (Mark) Brannen. Nana adored her Granchildren, Marcia (Leon) Archambault, Cristy (Nick) Carbone, Michelle and Michael Leach. Florence is also survived by her great granchildren, Haleigh, Emily and Carly Archambault and Giavanna and Rocco Carbone and her brother, Ray (Kathy) St.Clair, along with many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, husband, Harry A. Leach, sister, Barbara Pierpont O’Malley and brothers, James St.Clair and William St.Clair. Florence loved music and dancing, when a song played her and siblings were the first ones on the dance floor. She will be remembered for her warm smile that could light up a room, her excellent baking skills, which she passed on to her granddaughter, Marcia. Florence had a soft spot when it came to stray animals. She was a parishioner of St Bernadette’s Church and a member of the Ladies Guild and was always willing to donate her time to the school. A special thank you to Tabitha Cox and RuthAnne Braren for their kind and compassionate care over the last six years. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 from 4 to 7 PM at the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home (Clancy Funeral Home), 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven. Funeral procession will leave Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 13 at 9:40 AM for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 385 Townsend Ave., New Haven with Committal to follow at All Saints Cemetery. Memorial donations/in lieu of flowers may be made to St. Bernadette School, 385 Townsend Ave., New Haven CT 06512 in memory of Florence Leach.
