Rest in peace, Walter. You've earned it! You've run the race. You've finished the course. In a manner that makes, "Well done, thou good and faithful servant," a more than appropriate benediction. Never drawing attention to yourself, you just "got 'er done!" Even when that meant risking life and limb high up on the C & E rafters to replace light bulbs when in your 80s. And who would have known if parishioners hadn't accidentally observed your daredevil exploit!

I worked with Walt at Norwalk State Technical College for over a decade. Walt signed me up to be a member of the AFT and encouraged my growth within the union to achieve it's presidency. Walt was always a source of support and inspiration. He will be missed. My condolences to Beverly and family dennis

Dear Beverly and family, My prayerful sympathy upon learning of Walt's death. As an AMC member and East of the River (EOR) hiker I often often hiked along with Walt and truly enjoyed our many conversations. Bev you joined us on a number of hikes and you were equally enjoyable to be with. In fact, I recall a cook out at your lake house that was so relaxing and beautiful in its simplicity. Many times our EOR hikers have wondered about the whereabouts of Walt because he was such a kind, thoughtful and faithful hiker. Now we know, thanks to David's communication to us. By the way, I believe that David was a student of mine at WCSU. When your dad spoke of you attending WCSU and a successful music teacher, it was music to my ears. As I recall, you look very much like your dad with an equally pleasant personality. My prayerful sympathy to all of you on the death of Walt. And, may you be consoled with many fond memories of him, a gentleman to his core. Prayerful sympathy, Sister Mary Friel, SND
