Josephine (DePetto) Sobol 94, of East Haven passed away April 7, 2017, at Yale New Haven Hospital. She was born January 1, 1923, in New Haven to Peter and Antoinette DePetto. Josephine is survived by her loving children; Joyce (Anthony J. Klimas Jr.) Morrissey of West Haven, Barbara Giordano of Branford, Donna (Robert Grosberg) Milano of West Haven, Patricia Dostie of East Haven and the late Peter Juliano. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and a sister, Florence Polaski (Anthony) of East Haven. Josephine is preceded in death by parents, her husband, Stanley Sobol (March, 2017) and siblings, Anthony Saffiotti, Julia Conti, Carmel Bimonte, Susan Borsella and Eleanor Varrecchio. Josephine was a devoted Catholic and an active member in the Ladies guild with Our Lady of Pompeii. She was formerly employed by AC Gilbert, then later Macy’s and her last job was with Bilco Company in West Haven. She loved to travel, attend shows, Mohegan Sun and ballroom dance. Family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7:30 PM on Tuesday, April 11, 2017, at the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home (Clancy Funeral Home), 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven. Funeral procession will leave Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 12 at 10:40 AM for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM in Our Lady of Pompeii Catholic Church, (Route 80), East Haven with Committal to follow at All Saints Cemetery, North Haven.
