Obituary of Antoinette Vorio

Antoinette “Nettie” (Izzo) Vorio, 95 of East Haven passed away on April 4, 2017 at home surrounded by her family. She was born December 30, 1921 in New Haven to Dominick and Mary (Cioffi) Izzo. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband of 70 years, Peter Vorio (Jan. 2017), brothers, Angelo and Donald Izzo and a sister, Agnes Cantore. Antoinette is survived by two loving daughters; Barbara Pendziwater of Branford and Janice Langella (Lewis) of East Haven, along with four grandchildren, Anthony Pendziwater III, Peter Pendziwater, Alicia Esposito (John) and Allison Langella (Kelly). Antoinette is also survived by five great grandchildren; Aiden Esposito, Lily Esposito, Ava Langella, Avery Langella and Logan Langella, and several nieces/nephews. Nettie was an associate of her family's business Izzo's Furniture Store in New Haven and later in East Haven. She was a member of Saint Clare's Ladies Guild and Annex Women's Club. She took pride in her family and home. She and Peter enjoyed traveling, dancing, and spending Sundays with family. She loved cooking, shopping, and making people happy. Her smile and warm heart will truly be missed. We would like to thank her current caregiver Mary, who she loved with all of her heart, and all of her caregivers before for providing her with excellent care. Family will receive friends from 4 to 7 PM on Friday April 7, 2017 at the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home (Clancy Funeral Home) 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven. Funeral procession will leave Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home on Saturday, April 8 at 9:40 AM for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. Clare Catholic Church, 234 Coe Ave., East Haven with Committal to follow at St. Lawrence Cemetery, West Haven.
