Obituary of Luba Olinyk

Luba Olinyk, 86, of North Port, FL and East Haven passed away Sunday, March 26, 2017. She was born May 1930 in Vinnytsia, Ukraine and experienced the difficult times in Europe during that period. She came to the United States in 1950 with and assisting her disabled father Petro Hrabelnikow. Luba was a long time resident of East Haven, CT before moving to Warm Mineral Springs, FL in 1987. She had a passion for gardening, loved dancing and cooking Ukrainian food. She is remembered for helping and guiding others. Luba especially enjoyed hosting her grandchildern to the attractions of Florida. She is survived by her children, Walter Ziwak, Lucy Blondin (Michael), Paul Olinyk, and John Olinyk (Lisa). She also leaves eight grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Luba was predeceased by her husband Semon in 1975, her parents and siblings, Ania, John, Reisa, Vera, and Tania. Viewing will be from 4PM to 7PM Friday, 31 March at Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home (Clancy Funeral Home), 43 Kirkham Ave, East Haven. A brief service at the funeral home will be held at 10AM on Saturday, 1 Apr with burial at East Lawn Cemetery, in East Haven, CT. The family would like to express gratitude to A.
