Ellen Thorpe 98 of East Haven passed away February 16, 2017 at CT Hospice. She was born July 21, 1918 in New Haven to Thomas and Mary (Coughlin) Thorpe. Ellen is the last survivor of her immediate family. She is preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Marie O’Donnell and Anne Turcio and a brother, Thomas Thorpe. Ellen is survived by many loving and caring nieces/nephews and great nieces/nephews. She was a US Army WAC serving during WWII and retired employee of New Haven Railroad.
Family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 from 11 AM until the time of service at 12 PM (Noon) in the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home (Clancy Funeral Home) 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven, with Committal to follow at St. Lawrence Cemetery with full Military Honors.
