Carmela (Matteo) Dennison 88 of East Haven passed away November 14, 2016 at CT Hospice. She was born October 17, 1928 in New Haven to Peter and Maria (Biasucci) Matteo. Carmela is survived by her daughter, Charlotte Mansfield (Robert) of East Haven, granddaughter, Crystal England of East Haven, four great grandchildren, Daija, Lilliana, Daniel and Christian, grandsons, Matthew Golding of Amston, CT and Frankie Atwater of Utah, son-in-law, Frank Atwater of East Haven and daughter, Lucy Dennison of New Haven. She is predeceased by her parents, husband Earl Dennison, son Peter Dennison and several nieces and nephews. Carmela is the last survivor of her immediate family of 10 children. Carmela dedicated her life to her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She loved writing poetry and received an award for her writings. Carmela was a dedicated member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. Family will receive friends from 4 to 8 PM on Friday, November 18, 2016 at the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home, (Clancy Funeral Home) 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven. Funeral procession will leave Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home at 9:40 AM on Saturday, November 19 for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Taylor Ave., East Haven with Committal to follow at East Lawn Cemetery.
