In Branford, July 25, 2009, Alice M. Santagata Tulumello, 89, of Hellstrom Rd., East
Haven. Wife of the late Alfred G. Tulumello. Beloved mother of Mary (Joe)
Acquarulo of Branford and Ana (Chuck) Oman of Bethany. Loving grandmother of
Ashley Acquarulo of Branford. Sister of Evelyn Santagata of New Haven, Frances McGrath
of Palm Coast, FL and the late Liberato, William and Joseph Santagata, Anna Riccio,
Constance and Helen Santagata and Viola Mattucci. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Born Sept. 24, 1919 in New Haven a daughter of the late Francisco and Alfonsina
Santagata, she had been employed for many years as a seamstress for several area
companies including Golia's Dress Shop and Cramers Dept. Store. Alice was a longtime
communicant of Our Lady of Pompeii Church.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday morning at 11:00 in Our Lady of
Pompeii Church, East Haven. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery. There are no calling
hours. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospital of St. Raphael Foundation,
1450 Chapel St., New Haven, CT 06511 or Our Lady of Pompeii Church, 355 Foxon Rd.,
East Haven, CT 06513.
