Obituary of Dorothy Harrison

Dorothy “Dot” Harrison 94 of East Haven and Old Saybrook passed away peacefully on August 13, 2016 at Apple Rehab. She was born June 16, 1922 in New Haven to William and Marion (Clinton) Bohne. Dorothy is survived by two loving children, Robert Harrison (Lorraine) of Guilford and Susan Dest (William) of Clinton and four grandchildren, Jennifer DiSorbo (Dan), Melissa Dest, Katelyn Bushey (David) and Ryan Dest. She is also survived by two great grandchildren, Luca DiSorbo and Marco DiSorbo. Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents, husband Lincoln Harrison (1998), sister, Rosemary, brother, Edward Bohne and sister-in-law, Margaret Harrison. Dorothy was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Dot will be remembered for her warm smile, sense of humor and good natured personality. Upon retirement as a bookkeeper for many local New Haven businesses, Dorothy volunteered at CT Hospice in Branford for over 25 years in the bereavement office. Family will receive friends from 9:15 to 11:15 AM on Friday, August 19, 2016 at the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home (Clancy Funeral Home), 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven. Funeral procession will leave Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home at 11:20 AM on Friday, the same day, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 AM in St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Taylor Ave., East Haven with Committal to Follow at East Lawn Cemetery.
