Genevieve Pannone Ushchak, 81 of East Haven passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her family, on June 22, 2016. She was born November 12, 1934 in New Haven to Charles and Adeline (Esposito) Pannone. Genevieve is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Walter Ushchak, and by her four children: Catherine Ushchak (Allan Weatherwax) of Saratoga Springs, NY; Carolyn Shelto (Anthony) of East Hampton, CT; Steven Ushchak (Lynn) of Middletown; and Joseph Ushchak (JoAnne) of East Haven. Gen was known as “Nonnie” to her nine grandchildren: Benjamin and Evan Weatherwax; Matthew, Elizabeth and Joshua Shelto; Emma and Alex Ushchak; and Charles and Jacob Ushchak. She was cared for by a special cousin, Debra Vincent (David Arbour) of East Haven. Genevieve was a lifelong member of St. Clare Catholic Church and a member of Bradford Manor Fire Station Ladies Auxiliary. Family will receive friends from 8 – 9:40 AM on Saturday, June 25, 2016 at the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home (Clancy Funeral Home), 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven. Funeral procession will leave Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home at 9:45 AM on Saturday for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. Clare Catholic Church, 234 Coe Ave., East Haven with Committal to follow at St. Agnes Cemetery in Branford. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bridges of Hope, c/o St. Clare Church, 234 Coe Ave., East Haven CT 06512 in memory of Genevieve Ushchak.
