Robert “Bobby” Blomberg 66 of New Haven passed away peacefully at CT Hospice on June 7, 2016 after a four year battle with cancer. He was the beloved husband for 34 years to Katherine “Katie” (Swanson) Blomberg. He was born June 19, 1949 in New London to the late Harry and Edna Blomberg. He is also preceded in death by his brothers and sister-in-laws, Eugene Blomberg and Lucille, Norman Blomberg and Gloria, his in laws, Barry Sr. and Rosemary (Keyes) Swanson. Bobby worked for many years at Seaboard Oil and then ran his own business, Hometech Heating. Bobby was funny, sarcastic and loyal; once a friend, always a friend. He loved the Yankees, Redskins and animals, especially his cats. Katie always said that she married the “crazy cat women.” Robert is survived by his brother-in-law, Barry Swanson Jr. and his wife, Pat, along with many nieces/nephews and great nieces/nephews. He also leaves his lifelong friends who where family; Cathy and Bill, Debbie and Kevin, Debbie (the late Ralph), Marlane (the late Kevin), Flyboy, Guido, Steve, Debbie R. and Al, Corey and Lisa, Joe, Nancy, Michelle and his very dear friend Norma. He will be missed. Family and friends are welcome to a celebration of Robert’s life on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 from 4 to 7 PM at the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home, (Clancy Funeral Home), 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Smilow Cancer Hospital at Yale New Haven, 20 York Street, New Haven CT 06510 in memory of Robert Blomberg.
