Nancy Anne (Cucurello) Bates 80 of East Haven, passed away June 8, 2016 at St. Raphael Campus of Yale New Haven Hospital. She was born September 10, 1935 in New Haven to Frank and Philomena (Deluca) Cucurello. She is survived by of husband of 50 years, Edwin Bates and two loving sons, Anthony Bates of Wallingford and Ronald Bates of East Haven. She is also survived by three grandchildren who she adored, Justin, Cecilia and Sophia Bates along with her siblings, Rosemary Gaudino, Anna Mattie, Frank Cucurello Jr., John Cucurello and several nieces/nephews. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who loved her family. She proud member of St Clare's parish, helped with the Special Olympics and was a avid men's and women's UCONN Basketball fan.
Family will receive friends from 9 - 10:15 AM on Saturday, June 11, 2016 at the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home (Clancy Funeral Home), 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven. Funeral procession will then leave Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM in St. Clare Catholic Church, Coe Ave., East Haven with Committal to follow at All Saints Cemetery in North Haven.
