Many years ago, both my husband and I sang in St. Vincent de Paul's church choir and "Doc" Schlegel was a member of our group. Everyone loved him -- he had a gift of quiet humor and just the nicest guy you would ever meet. Over the years, we have talked about him and the "old days" rehearsing and singing with the group. He was always a part of our memories. Charles and Terry Gerard

My deepest sympathy in the loss of Doc. I know he'll be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. I missed his kisses on the cheek, on his way to communion, when I moved to Monroe. Now that he's with God and free of pain, may he rest in peace.
