Ewald “Tootsie” Hessinger 93 of East Haven passed away May 3, 2016 at the Arden House in Hamden. He was born December 22, 1922 in New Haven to Adolphus and Julia (Tillert) Hessinger. Ewald is survived by his sister, Edna Mrowka of New Haven, his companion, Marge Konesky and numerous nieces/nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Rose (LaMonica) Hessinger, daughter, Gail Hessinger and siblings; Walter Hessinger, Oswald Hessinger, Amelia Targrove and Evelyn Purgatore.
A private graveside service was held at Beaverdale Memorial Park, New Haven with full military honors. Services are under the care of Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home (Clancy Funeral Home), 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven.
