Thomas Culligan, 65, of East Haven passed away April 14, 2016 at Hospital for Special Care in New Britain. He was born December 12, 1950 in New Haven to Thomas and Frances (McLaughlin) Culligan. He is preceded in death by parents and two sisters, Janice Suscietto and Loreen Zander. Thomas is survived by loving and devoted wife of 35 years, Elizabeth (Dion) Culligan and several nieces/nephews. Thomas was a proud US Army veteran and Purple Heart recipient of the Vietnam War. He later worked for the US Postal Service with over 12 years of Service. He was a lifetime member of VFW Post 9261- Martha’s Vineyard Post. Family will receive friends from 4 to 7 PM on Friday, April 22, 2016 at the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home (Clancy Funeral Home), 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven. Funeral procession will leave Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home on Saturday, April 23 at 9:45 AM for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Taylor Ave., East Haven with Committal and full Military Honors to follow at East Lawn Cemetery, East Haven. Donations may be made in Thomas’ honor to Hospital for Special Care Foundation, 2150 Corbin Ave., New Britain CT 06053.
