Obituary of Ruth Buechele

Ruth Buechele 86 of East Haven passed away peacefully on February 21, 2016 at Hamden Health Care. She was born January 17, 1930 in Lewistown, PA to Matthew and Ellen (Moore) Botwright. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Edward Buechele (2009), sons, Kenneth, Philip and Arthur Buechele and two sisters, Delores Andrews and Lois Botwright. Ruth is survived by five loving and caring children, Ronald Buechele (Donna) of Florida, Michael Buechele (EHFD) of East Haven, Donald Buechele (retired, Hamden FD) and his wife, Chrissy of Hamden, Bruce Buechele (EHFD) and his wife, Sharon of East Haven and Sandra Fitzgerald of North Haven. Ruth is also survived by five grandchildren, Melissa Buechele, Brian Buechele, Brandon Buechele, Justin Buechele and Tara Durant (Josh), two great grandchildren, Mikayla Durant and Joshua Durant and a sister, Evelyn Vernon of Arizona. Ruth was a busy homemaker caring for her family of 8 children. She loved to bowl and enjoyed watching the Red Soxs and UConn Girls Basketball. Ruth was a member of The Bradford Manor Ladies Auxiliary and a member of Old Stone Church. In her later years Ruth worked for K-Mart. Ruth looked forward to her trips to Pennsylvania for her family reunions, casino runs, and dinners at the Sand Piper. Some of Ruth's fondest memories were her trip to Arizona to visit her sister Evelyn, and her mystery rides with her best friend Anne. Ruth was known for her quick wit and contagious laughter. Special thanks to Hamden Health Care-Glennwood unit Nurses and Aids. These wonderful people showed Ruth constant loving care and compassion, while sharing many laughs in her final months. Ruth will be truly missed by all who knew her. Family will receive friends from 4 to 7 PM on Thursday, February 25, 2016 at the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home (Clancy Funeral Home) 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven. Funeral Service will be celebrated on Friday, February 26 at 10 AM in The Old Stone Church, 251 Main Street, East Haven, (Please go directly to the church). Burial will follow at East Lawn Cemetery, East Haven. Donations may be made to the Old Stone Church, 251 Main Street, East Haven CT 06512 in memory of Ruth Buechele.
