Stephen “Junior” Florio 73 of West Haven, formerly of East Haven passed away February 20, 2016 at home. He was born July 19, 1942 in New Haven to Stephen and Phyllis (D’Amore) Florio. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Joseph Florio and sister, Ann “Snooky” Cirillo. Stephen is survived by his son, Stephen Schlitz Jr., brother, Pasquale “Butch” Florio (Sylvia) of New Hampshire and brother-in-law, Nicholas Cirillo of East Haven. Stephen is also survived by nephews/nieces, Pasquale Florio (Rufina), Stephanie Sullivan, Nick Cirillo (companion, Dana Courtney), Patti Ann Rahl (Donald), Frank Cirillo (Susan) and numerous great nieces/nephews. Stephen was a retired employee of Miles Pharmaceuticals in West Haven and belonged to their retiree group. He also belonged to Parents without Partners, Nutmeg Treasure Hunters and a Rosary Club. Family will receive friends from 4 to 7 PM on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home (Clancy Funeral Home), 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven. Funeral procession will leave Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 24 at 9:45 AM for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Taylor Ave., East Haven with Committal to follow at St. Lawrence Cemetery in West Haven.
