Obituary of Reisa Kalynowski Raisz

Reisa Kalynowski-Raisz 92 of Shelton, formerly of West Haven, passed away peacefully at Gardner Heights in Shelton on Friday, February 19, 2016 with Vic and Kathy by her side. She was born May 24, 1924 in the Ukraine and moved with her own family to the United States in 1953. She is preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Andre Kalynowski and Karl Raisz and a daughter, Lydia (Kalynowski) Defusco. Reisa is survived by her loving son, Vic Kalynowski and his wife, Kathy of Derby, two granddaughters, Lena Rabbitt (Jamie), Leah Kittredge (Dan), great grandchildren, Isabelle Kittredge, Harrison Kittredge and Conner Rabbitt. She is also survived by a sister, Luba Olinyk of Florida and many nieces/nephews from Chicago, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Derby and East Haven. Reisa was a retired employee of Matlaws in West Haven where she lived for over 50 years. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who enjoyed dancing, gardening and cooking Ukrainian food for her family. Reisa also enjoyed knitting for family and friends. All services will be private with the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home, (Clancy Funeral Home) 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven with burial at East Lawn Cemetery, East Haven.
