Obituary of Assunta Piscitelli

Assunta (DeLucia) Piscitelli 92 of New Haven passed away January 12, 2016 at Apple Rehab in Guilford with her children by her side. She was born August 15, 1923 in Santa Maria A Vico, Italy to Giuseppe and Vincenza DeLucia. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Lorenzo Piscitelli (2002). Assunta is survived by seven loving children; Nick Piscitelli (Helen) of North Carolina, Giuseppe Piscitelli (Vinnie) of West Haven, Carmela Borrelli (Rich) of North Haven, Luigi Piscitelli (Debbie) of Wallingford, Vincenza Izzo (John) of East Lyme, Ida Sansone (Joseph) of North Branford and Emma Piscitelli of New Haven. Nonnie is also survived by ten grandchildren; Francine Riddick (Lindsey), Nicole Petz (Vern), Stephanie DeRosseau (Tim), Larry Piscitelli, Joe Piscitelli Jr., Rick Borrelli Jr. (Tina Marie), Louie Piscitelli Jr., Teresa Izzo, Susanna Izzo, Krista Sansone and nine great grandchildren. Assunta was a very loving and kind mother, grandmother and great grandmother; she cherished her time with the family. She was a retired employee of Strouse Adler Company in New Haven with over 20 years of service. She enjoyed crocheting, cooking, gardening and her friends at the Annex Senior Center and Mary Wade Day Center. Family will receive friends from 5 to 7 PM on Friday, January 15, 2016 at the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home (Clancy Funeral Home), 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven. Funeral procession will leave Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home on Saturday, January 16 at 9:40 AM for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 385 Townsend Ave., New Haven with Committal to follow at All Saints Cemetery in North Haven.
