Efrain Diaz 63 of New Haven passed away December 3, 2015 at Yale New Haven Hospital. He was born October 25, 1952 in Puerto Rico to Natividad and Eladia (Cruz) Diaz. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Ramiro Diaz. Efrain is survived by his loving wife, Andrea Gareri-Diaz and three children; Linda Diaz-Hernandez (Roman) of Calif., Chris Diaz of Calif. and Madeline Diaz of New Haven, two step-children; Justin Averitt of New Haven and Elizabeth Hines (fiancé’, Jon Young). Efrain is also survived by three grandchildren; Lina Hernandez, Gabriel Hernandez and Jonathon Young Jr., a brother, Manolin Diaz and sisters, Ana Luz Diaz, Maria Diaz and Angela Diaz, numerous nieces/nephews and mother-in-law, April Gareri (widow of Clement Gareri).
Family will receive friends on Monday, December 7, 2015 from 4PM until the time of service at 7 PM with US Army military honors in the Clancy Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave. East Haven. Burial will be private.
