Obituary of Theresa Rose Russo

Theresa Rose Russo 83 of Northford, formerly of New Haven passed away peacefully on November 8, 2015 in Northford. She was born November 1, 1932 to Maurizio and Lena (Biardino) Russo. Theresa is preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Salvatore Russo, Paul Russo Sr., Vincent Russo and sisters, Rose Benivegna and Phyliss Vorio. Theresa is survived by her niece and goddaughter, Sally Stone (Albert Jr.), nephew, Thomas F. Vorio (Diane), nephew, Paul Russo (Maria), niece, Lorraine Vitelli (Robert), and nephew, David Benivegna (Trudy). She is also survived by great nieces/nephews, great-great nieces/nephews and her extended family, the Vorio’s. Theresa lived in the Annex area of New Haven for over 80 years. She was a hard worker, always working two jobs including The U.I. Co., Bessie Richie retail, Edward Malley Co., Kayseys Restaurant, Bank of Boston and The Federal Government until her retirement in 2010. She loved to read, bake and garden. She also took great pride in knitting blankets which she donated to Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital. She was a teddy bear collector and adored Chihuahuas. Theresa was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. Family will receive friends from 9 – 10:15 AM on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at the Clancy Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven. Funeral Procession will leave Clancy Funeral Home at 10:20 AM for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM in St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Taylor Ave, East Haven with Committal to follow at St. Lawrence Cemetery.
