Please share a memory of Ralph to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Ralph Pierpont 80 of Madison passed away October 25, 2015 at Apple Rehab in Guilford. He was born May 14, 1935 in New Haven to the late Ralph A. and Florence (Thayer) Pierpont. Ralph is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Lynn (Martin) Pierpont and three children; Stephen Pierpont of Killingworth, Jeff Pierpont of Madison, and Corinne Noon (Daniel) of Unionville, CT. Ralph is also survived by granddaughter, Brittney Harbist (Steven) and a sister, Barbara Savage of Enfield, CT.
Ralph grew up on the Branford shoreline and graduated Branford HS 1952. He worked as a mechanic until entering the army in 1957. He spent the rest of his working career in the Connecticut Army National Guard of the rank of Sargent 1st class and received many service commendations until his discharged in 1992. He joined the American Legion of Madison and continued to perform honor guard services for the fallen.
He loved his family and gave of himself all that he could. He would enjoy involving himself with family activities, little league ball games, summer picnics, shoreline beach and the family summer vacations on a lake in Maine.
He was an avid antique car enthusiast. Member of the Shoreline Antique Auto Club for many years participated with his sons in many of the club’s antique car show events. He had a vast knowledge mechanical works and automotive history. He enjoyed tinkering with his 1954 Austin Healey 100-4.
He was a devout Christian and was very involved with his church. He loved the Lord and would share the gospel of Jesus Christ with all who would listen. “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and Thou Shall Be Saved”.
Ralph was a humble man and was often referred to as being a gentleman. He has left a void in many that will not ever be filled. We will miss Ralph more than words can express. Carry on soldier until we meet again.
