Obituary of Salvatore A. Rascati

Salvatore A. Rascati Jr. 60 of Branford passed away October 13, 2015. He was born December 30, 1954 to Salvatore Sr. and Rosemary Rascati of Wallingford. Salvatore is survived by his parents, loving wife of 31 years, Barbara (Vitagliano) Rascati of Branford, daughter, Sara Elisabeth Juianelle (Aaron Dennis) and grandchildren, Aaron Dennis Jr. and Nylah Rose. Other survivors include sisters, Ann Marie McPherson and Elizabeth J. Landow ( Marc ) and a brother, Frank Rascati all of Wallingford. He was predeceased by brother, William Rascati of Chicago. Sal attended Valley Forge Military Academy and College and received MBA from University of New Haven. He was a US Army veteran and later employed by Textron Lycoming and CT Conference of Municipalities in the technology field. Sal was a fervent music and film enthusiast. He was an accomplished artist, talented drummer, an audiophile and a fan of modern architecture. He enjoyed exploring under water the tropical coral reefs and hiking the southwestern national parks of the Colorado Plateau. The Rascati family would like to express their sincere gratitude to his team at the Smilow Cancer Center and CT Hospice of Branford, along with friends Bill Martoccia of Long Island and Sylvia O’Brien of Branford. Family will receive friends from 4 to 7 PM on Friday, October 16, 2015 at the Clancy Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven, with a brief blessing at 5 pm. Burial will be at 1 PM in St. Agnes Cemetery on Wednesday, October 21 with military honors.
