Obituary of Dolores Werner

Dolores “Del” (Cosenza) Werner 87 of Branford passed away July 6, 2015 at Branford Hills. She was born July 8, 1927 in New London to the late Philomena Porretta and William Ricci. She was a retired employee of SNET after many years of service and she had a love for animals; Del worked very hard for Animal Haven. She leaves many friends, especially Patty DeRenzo and Dolly DeBiaso for her care and friendship. Del is also survived by cousins, Jean Uguccioni of East Lyme, Jan DeNuzzio of New London, Jacqueline Steenkamp of Colorado, John Porretta of Mystic, Joe Porretta of Montville and Mike Porretta of East Lyme.A special thank you to Bob Colby for his work on researching Del’s extended family and friends. Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service on Wednesday, July 29 at 11 AM at St. Mary’s Cemetery, 600 Jefferson Ave., New London, CT. Funeral services are under the care of Clancy Funeral Home, East Haven. The family would like to thank Branford Hills for all their kindness, compassion and excellent care, it was greatly appreciated.
