Joan (Cassidy) Degnall 95 of East Haven passed away May 11, 2015 at Apple Rehab in Guilford. She was born October 21, 1919 in New Haven to James and Hedwig (Schmidt) Cassidy. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, John Degnall, sister, Hedwig Degnall and brother, James Cassidy. Joan is survived by two loving children; Joanna Degnall of Madison and John Degnall (Antonieta) of East Haven, two grandchildren; Elizabeth Degnall and Alex Degnall, a brother, Robert Cassidy of West Haven and several nieces and nephews. Joan was a member of the first graduating class of East Haven High School. She was a former employee of Graybar Electric, H.P. Hood Company and Statewide Meat and Poultry. Joan was an avid gardener, who also enjoyed painting, ceramic work, traveling with the Elderhostel and volunteering at CT Hospice in Branford.
Family and friends are invited to meet and attend a graveside service on Friday, May 15, 2015 at 11:30 AM in East Lawn Cemetery, East Haven. Funeral service is in the care of Clancy Funeral Home, East Haven.
